Zooms.
Growing up, I only got one pair of sneakers a year. Those same sneakers served me for daily wear, gym class, basketball after school at the outdoor courts, walking to lotto & things to play street fighter 2, and a whole lot more. They also had to cost $50 or less, so I was the one wearing Avias and Ponys from Filene’s Basement. I was always jealous of the sneakers my classmates wore to school – Reverse Jams, Air Tech Challenges, Jordan IIIs/IVs, Air Pegasuses, Air Flight 89s, Court Victory Pumps… I remember them all vividly. Now that I’m older and have a little more disposable income, I’m able to go back and purchase some of the shoes I missed out on when I was younger. Being able to buy them now after missing out on them in my youth makes them mean that much more to me.
These Air Zoom Flight 96’s dropped in my junior year of High School and were worn by Jason Kidd and Penny Hardaway. I’m about to join an indoor gym next week and don’t have any non-black outsole basketball shoes (as is required to play there) so I’m happy to announce that they were added to the fold today. I owned one other pair of Kidds and was really fond of the Zoom Air technology – the cushioning is unparalleled. Also, I have wide asian feet and these accomodate me quite comfortably. I’m stoked to take them for a spin next week.
Welcome to the family.
